Flower Power
New Zealand is not blessed with an abundance of brightly coloured flowers, with some notable exceptions of course. Our main native pollinators (moths and crawling insects) are attracted by scent rather than colour. The native New Zealand bush is very green, with many wonderfully textural plants, but not a lot of colour. So we often rely on introduced plants to colour our gardens and offer photo opportunities!
